Dear Parents,
Assisting women and their families as they experience the process of
having a baby is a joy. I work hard to provide the personalized
maternity care that women need and deserve for pregnancy, birth,
and beyond.
My job often begins before conception, and ends long after the birth
day. Being a VBAC (Vaginal Birth after Cesarean) mom myself, I
enjoy helping others seeking a VBAC. I also offer waterbirth services.
My clients have the option of utilizing an area birth center.
I view pregnancy as a normal condition, and nurture the pregnant
woman and her family while providing optimal physical care,
safeguarding the health of mother and baby.
Understanding that birth is about much more than just having a baby,
I try to address the needs of every client in regard to birth and
mothering. My job is to help her during the period of transformation
we know as pregnancy, birth, and child rearing.
My first birth was a planned hospital birth, because I thought that was
the place NORMAL people had their babies. I became a c-section
statistic. With the following birth, my loving husband found a terrific
midwife who attended our home birth. My great home birth
experience helped me heal from the previous birth experience. I later
had three more babies (two more at home and one in a birth center)
with the same midwife. Now my children are ages 11-22.
Soon after my first home birth, I felt a desire to help other women
have a fulfilling birth. I began studying midwifery in 1988, began
apprenticing in 1991, and started my own practice in 1993. I became
a Certified Professional Midwife in 2000.
As secretary of the Association of Texas Midwives' Midwifery Training
Program Committee and an ATMMTP Preceptor, I am helping to train
tomorrow's midwives. I want to instill in new midwives the caring
heart that makes the difference between a good birth and a great
birth.
My practice area includes most of North Texas, and I look forward to
hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Pam Holland
Texas Licensed Midwife, Certified Professional Midwife
Pam-
I just had to email you.
I am a close friend of B- and I
can't even begin to find the
words to thank you for what
you helped her achieve.
B- spent nearly the last 3 years
"recovering" from her cesarean
and the last 9 months
preparing for her VBAC.
I just wanted to take a minute
to thank you for the
empowerment of birth that you
helped my friend find. As you
know, it's something that she
will carry with her forever-and
it will (and has) change her life.
Women who realize that
childbirth is so much more than
a way to get a baby are really
lucky.
Thanks for all you do!
Louise, CD (DONA), CLD
"Words cannot even express
our gratitude. Thank-you for
your wisdom and talent - and
generosity of commitment!
Blessings, The LaTurnos
"I was especially pleased with
how caring and attentive Pam
was." "She went above and
beyond what I expected from a
midwife."
