A recent study published in the British Medical Journal showed
healthy women's planned home births in the U.S. are associated
with similar safety and less intervention when compared to
hospital births. The results support the American Public Health
Association's (APHA) recommendation to increase access to out
of hospital maternity care services with direct entry midwives in
the United States.
